Here’s an amazing thing. Ever notice that sometimes you wake up in the morning and have a really good idea right off the bat, or have a new insight on a problem? Use that to your advantage. Set your alarm a few minutes early (yeah, I know, yuck) and when it rings, use that time to think through whatever you need to think through.
Your natural disinclination to try new things is surprisingly weak when you first wake up. And sometimes you just may find that you overlooked something that’s just blatantly obvious when your thinking is still a little bit sleep-woozy and you’re not so laser-focused.
Give it a try.
