Why is my diet not working?

Great question!

There are only a few possibilities.

1. You’re eating at a caloric deficit, and it’s working at the recommended weight of 1-2 pounds per week over the long term, and you’re just in a statistically normal but emotionally unusual lull. In this case, go do something other than worry, you’re doing great.

2. You’re fooling yourself and really eating at a caloric surplus. Hey, it happens. Log your food for a week and see what you get.

3. You’re not fooling yourself, you know you’re eating at a caloric surplus but you’re so used to trying to lose weight that you pretty much see that overeating as part of weight loss, or you just ignore it.

Try out these explanations in the order listed and stop as soon as you find one that explains where you are 🙂
