Look, Yahoo has been bypassed by wave after wave of tech innovation and is largely irrelevant to most of us. These employees are in danger of losing their jobs and company. Being called in to the office for an all hands on deck blitzkrieg of best effort work is a good thing.
Not that working from home is lazy. At all. Or horribly inefficient.
And definitely not that you should follow in their CEO’s footsteps and go back to work 2 weeks after giving birth, or make your baby a nursery in your office so you can work and care for them concurrently.
From the individual employee standpoint, we support the recall to the office.
Lots of us work primarily from an office. You’ll get used to it.
