In short, food aversion is that feeling you get like, hey it was fish that gave me food poisoning, now I can’t stand even the smell of fish and could never eat it again… or, for ladies, that pregnancy induced aversion to certain smells that affects your ability to eat certain foods.  In more extreme cases it can lead to your not eating enough because you just can’t stand the smell.  There’s procedural ways around it, as the article points out.

Whereas anorexia involves refusing food in general because you want to lose weight.   It’s often related to seeing yourself as quite a bit fatter than you really are, and it’s life-threatening.
