Use this information with appropriate discretion, of course:

1. It’s a very, very, VERY small study, only 21 individuals, and it’s difficult to say how they were measuring calorie burn unless the folks were heavily instrumented all day. 300 calories’ difference is within the margin of error for the less invasive types of activity monitors.

2. This isn’t about losing more weight or losing it more quickly, or about feeling better, the folks had already lost the required amount of weight.

3. By all means if you go low carb please realize this is not the bacon, spareribs, sausage and cheese omelet diet. They’re talking eating more protein and plants and less refined carbs, just like we’ve been doing here for a long time. You can call it the paleo diet if you want to be current and trendy.
