Here’s a really nice table of how long several different kinds of foods keep you feeling pleasantly well fed.

That English breakfast of beans on toast — very filling.

The Irish breakfast with potatoes — very filling.

A candy bar — nope, sorry.

When you’re snacking, go for something high on the list and relatively low calorie.  Popcorn is excellent for that purpose, as are other whole grains, as are lean meats, fish, and fruit.
