Lean Cuisine – Meatloaf and Whipped Potatoes review

I really like meat loaf.  The kind with a ketchup on top.  Especially with mashed potatoes.

Lean Cuisine – Meatloaf and Whipped Potatoes is almost, but not quite, entirely unlike that.  The sauce is disconcertingly like extra mild salsa diluted in water, the potatoes are that diet kind, and the meat is sort of a budget frozen salisbury steak thingie.  Which by the way, is not what Salisbury steak was like when people made them at home.

Anyway … it feels pretty skimpy and doesn’t carry that homey feel of meat loaf on a cold day.

The better choice would be to make, portion, and freeze a turkey meat loaf,  and then you’d have easily 8-12 servings of better meat as the basis for some nice lunches.

Overall, though, it gets a passing grade, worth having occasionally.    6.5 out of 10 stars.
