Butter or Margarine?

Which I disagree with, to a point.

There are particular, healthy recipes which absolutely rely on a small amount of butter, and for which margarine produces an inferior end result.  And there are other uses for which a little of the real thing is vastly superior to a lot of the old thing.

One thing we notice on people’s  food logs compared to their food photos is that, at the table,  people use a lot of margarine but they use a little butter.  So the calories may be about the same to somewhat less for using real butter at the table. Plus it’s a relatively unprocessed, pure product vs. a manufactured food.

Yes, when people are not losing weight like their food log would indicate we do ask for the photos.  You’d be shocked.  Or maybe you wouldn’t.
